WATCH: Songs for Heroes Concert to Serenade 44 SAF Families Tonight

UNTV will air the "Songs for Heroes' benefit concert tonight at 8 PM. There will be live simulcast streaming of the concert as well.

The benefit concert was held last March 19 at the SM MOA Arena. The objective was to commemorate the bravery of the members of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (SAF) who were killed and wounded during their mission to get the international terrorist Marwan (Zulkifli Bin Hir) on January 25, 2015 at Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

The performers are as follows: Noel Cabangon, Jonalyn Viray, Gerald Santos, Faith Cuneta, NeoColours, Jay Durias, Beverly Caimen, Jek Manuel, Bo Cerrudo, Shanne Velasco, Jayson Fernandez, Miro Valera, the 5thGen and the members of PNP and AFP Chorale plus performances of talented soldiers and policemen.

Bro. Eli Soriano of Members Church of God International and  Kuya Daniel Razon of UNTV spearheaded the event that has accumulated something like P7 Million plus proceeds and scholarship not only for the families of the Gallant 44 but also the wounded men of PNP-SAF and soldiers of the AFP, too.

COMMENTARY: The government badly needs this kind of support from the private sector in consoling our modern heroes. Really, it is traumatic to loose someone you love specially if it is the head of your family.
Aside from financial help this event has provided, the aspect of emotional and spiritual support is as equally important making the families and the survivor of the Mamasapano operation not all alone in grieving for the departure of their love ones.
